AIR Security Technician

What is an AIR Security Technician?
The Assisted Immobilizer Reprogramming (AIR) Security Technician service was created for repair technicians who occasionally need to access a security-related immobilizer reset.
The AIR Request process enables a lightly vetted NASTF member to request remote assistance from a select group of NASTF contracted Service Providers.
While there is no registration fee for this NASTF account, it does require that you submit proof that your business is in good standing in your community and identification.
NASTF maintains a group of specially credentialed Vehicle Security Professionals who are approved to provide remote security operations to approved NASTF Air Security Technicians. When you select a vendor and upload the necessary vehicle and customer documentation the vendor will contact you to confirm and complete the repair.
Benefits of an AIR Security Technician
A free NASTF account provides access to essential resources and services without any cost. Here’s what you get:
✅ Access to OEM Service Information – View automaker service and repair resources.
✅ NASTF News & Updates – Stay informed about industry developments and NASTF initiatives.
✅ General NASTF Resources – Utilize educational materials, guides, and service info.
✅ Participation in Industry Discussions – Engage in forums and discussions on key automotive topics.

What a Free Account Does NOT Include:
❌ Secure Data Release Model (SDRM) Access – Needed for security-related vehicle repairs (e.g., key programming).
❌ Advanced OEM & Locksmith Services – Some manufacturer-specific services require additional verification.
A free account is ideal for general users who need industry information, while those requiring security-sensitive tools should explore SDRM registration.

What does it cost?
There is a cost of $45 for the first 5 completed transactions per year, from there on there is no charge for an AIR Request.
